So, I’m still very much a vegan-in-training. I’m still learning what products have animal products hiding in them and what products don’t. For instance, I just realized this week that my bread loaf contains milk [and apparently, most breads do]. Then there were the veggie burgers that I enjoyed last week only to find that they contained both eggs and milk.
Being vegan lends itself to much label-reading.
Tonight, I decided to look up the other side of the coin: the vegan products that even omnivores eat without any effort. “Accidentally vegan,” as they’re often described, these products are on many a grocery list.
Here are some of my favorite examples of accidentally vegan products from PETA.org:
- Cap’n Crunch Peanut Butter Crunch
- Fruit Loops
- Frosted Flakes
- Kellogg’s Special K Red Berries
- Cry Babies
- Fruit By the Foot
- Ghirardelli Twilight Delight Intense Dark
- Keebler Animal Crackers
- Nabisco Oreo Cookies
- Sour Patch Kids
- Hershey’s Syrup
- Ragu Pizza Sauce
- Campbell’s Franco-American Mushroom Gravy
- Progresso Soups (Lentil, Hearty Tomato, and Tomato Basil)
