Chocolate Salty Balls

Today, just when I thought I couldn’t take any more Raw food, I made my first-ever batch of raw balls & fell in love.

By combining different elements from The Kind Diet‘s Raw Balls and Going Raw‘s Ice Box Chocolate Chip Cookies, I’ve discovered a crispy, chocolatey marriage of deliciousness [and a great excuse for double entendre]. Here’s the recipe:


1 c. raw cashews
1/2 c. dried figs
3 tbsp. raw almond butter
1/2 c. agave nectar
1/2 c. raw cacao powder
1/2 tsp. sea salt
1/4 c. raw pecans

Using a blender or food processor, chop pecans into small chunks. Set aside.
Place cashews into emptied blender & grind into a fine powder.
Add figs, almond butter, agave, cacao powder, & sea salt. Blend until combined.
Remove dough-like mixture from blender and place into a small bowl.
Add pecan pieces to dough & kneed until combined.
With hands slightly damp, roll & press dough into golf ball-sized rounds.
Place each ball into a covered container & freeze for 30 minutes before eating.

These balls will stay good in the freezer for quite some time so feel free to make several batches at once.
Keep them on hand to enjoy for breakfast, dessert, or a quick snack whenever you wish.
